FAQ

How much is it per square meter?

This is a “how long is a piece of string” question. There are a lot of variables in each job that make pricing quite different; area, location, thickness, accessibility to name a few.

Please email some of the above details for an estimate.

What’s the difference between asphalt and bitumen (two-coat seal)?

Asphalt is the smooth road surface on major roads in, and around, cities.

Bitumen is the binder in asphalt. The bitumen holds the stone and sand together, like cement is the binder in concrete.

Often, people call ‘bitumen’ what is actually called ‘two-coat seal’. This two layers of liquid bitumen with rocks over the top. It is rough and has loose stones on the surface.

Is asphalt cheaper than concrete?

In general, the larger the area, the cheaper asphalt is in comparison to concrete.

Smaller areas, up to about 100 square metres, concrete can be comparable in price. This is due to the processes involved and that edging is often needed.

What different types of edging can I have?

In reality, the list is endless.

These are some that people often like:

  • timber
  • concrete (kerbs)
  • brick paver (any colour)
  • other outdoor pavers (terrazzo etc)
  • sandstone

We are able to place all types of edging. Generally, ask for the any type of paver to be supplied by the client so that colours are matched to your desired requirements.
